Substation Technician

About the role

Reporting into the team lead, you will be accountable for the delivery of the responsibilities set out below. This is a part-time position on a day shift, working remote from Iloilo City, Western Visayas. The company employs 201–1,000 and operates in the energy & utilities sector.

What you will do

• Monitor production, investigate incidents and fix root causes rather than symptoms.
• Document architectural decisions so the next engineer can pick up the work without a handover call.
• Work with product and design in short cycles to break large problems into shippable increments.
• Design, build and ship features across the stack, from database schema through to the user interface.
• Write automated tests and take part in code review so quality is enforced before merge, not after release.
• Improve build, deployment and observability tooling so the team ships faster with fewer regressions.

What we are looking for

• Solid commercial experience building and maintaining production web applications.
• Able to reason about performance, security and failure modes, not just the happy path.
• Strong command of JavaScript or TypeScript and at least one modern framework.
• Comfortable with relational databases, SQL and schema design.
• Experience with Git-based workflows, code review and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes or infrastructure-as-code.
• Open-source contributions or a public portfolio of side projects.
